What began as a labor of love during their own wedding planning experience led founders Candice and Brian Grant to see a gap in West Michigan’s event landscape, beautiful spaces that still overlooked the details that matter most.
In 2020, that vision became reality with the opening of Port 393, an urban lakeview venue designed from the ground up for seamless, memorable celebrations. As demand grew, so did the collection — including Ivy House, West Michigan’s only greenhouse event venue, and a growing portfolio of spaces and services built to elevate every type of event.
Today, The Grant Collection exists to create thoughtful, elevated experiences where no detail is overlooked and every guest feels considered.

Candice Grant
Owner
Candice Grant is the visionary co-founder of The Grant Collection, known for her creative approach to elevating event experiences and continuously seeking innovative ways to exceed client expectations. With a passion for growth, both personally and professionally, she thrives on transforming ideas into unforgettable moments for clients and their guests.

Brian Grant
Owner
Brian Grant is a driven entrepreneur and sales leader who turned a successful career in medical sales into the launch of The Grant Collection. He brings sharp business instincts, a growth mindset, and a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences.

Linda Shipman
Corporate Events Manager
Linda Shipman is the Corporate Event Manager at The Grant Collection, where she brings energy, strategy, and a client-first mindset to every event. With a background in communications and a passion for working with corporate clients and non-profits, she loves seeing events come to life and clients walk away fulfilled. Outside of work, she enjoys entertaining, playing pickleball, and exploring creative home projects.

Emma Woltjer
Business & Creative Administrator
Emma Woltjer is the Business & Creative Administrator at The Grant Collection, where she combines her passion for design with strategic operational planning. Since joining in May 2023, she’s moved up from Administrative Assistant and now leads creative projects and business systems with a detail-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her running, thrifting, or exploring new restaurants with friends.

Mackenzie Bishop
Culture & Performance Manager
Mackenzie Bishop is the HR Specialist at The Grant Collection, where she transitioned from an Event Manager to HR in 2024 as the business and team grew. With a passion for people, creativity, and the wedding industry, she enjoys encouraging others and helping them thrive. Outside of work, Mackenzie loves crafting, exploring West Michigan, and enjoying coffee dates with her husband.

Abigail Romanelli
Client Relationship Specialist
Abigail Romanelli is the Client Relationship Specialist at The Grant Collection, where she combines her detail-oriented nature and love for connection to create a smooth, enjoyable experience for every client. A graduate of Aquinas College, she’s passionate about helping others enjoy the same stress-free experience she once had as a Grant Collection bride.

Mackenna Byrd
Systems & Operations Coordinator
Mackenna Byrd is the Systems and Operations Coordinator at The Grant Collection, bringing a passion for hospitality and a talent for creating seamless, memorable experiences. With a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Grand Valley State University, she loves helping clients’ visions come to life and ensuring every detail runs smoothly. Outside of work, she enjoys card games with friends, coffee outings, and relaxing with her cat and a good book.
